Why does God allow suffering? Easy answer: Welcome to Earth School, and the Land of Suffering!
This temporary incarnation – where your Eternal Soul in having a very short dream – is designed specifically to experience trauma. The Soul designs a series of challenges in order to experience hardships for the purpose of cultivating divine qualities such as compassion, patience, tollerance, justice, equality, etc….
All of the higher consciousness qualities are nurtured and enhanced through the Earth School dream. Honestly, we can even call it the Earth School Nightmare, because at some point of this incarnation, every soul will experience living hell. The human condition, or just Life, is designed for each individual to experience some form of “suffering.” We all get to experience it.
Why does God allow suffering? If you’ve been raised believing in the anthropomorphic diety with an anger management problem, you will probably 
blame yourself, or even God for your misery. Nothing could be further from the truth. God does want you to suffer. God did not create your pain, or your tragedy. You know who did? You! Yes, You created the story; this is your dream and you designed it before you incarnated.
Also, let’s not blame Karma, as if the hardships are punishment for some crime in another past life.
Don’t go there. While there are certainly soul choices that are consequences for previous decicions the soul wants to transcend, it’s never a “punishment’. The Earth School challenges, that often produce suffering from the uneducated earth-walker, are designed and created by the Eternal Soul for the purpose of the soul’s edification, and divine transformation to a higher state of consciousness.
Pain and trauma are the fundamental building blocks of Earth School, intended for the soul’s evolution. If I experience pain, in any form, I will Know it intimately. Then, in my next lifetime, when I see someone in pain, I will know compassion, and understanding. I can then be of service to Spirit as I become more empathetic and more….loving! While we are here for painful challenges, the outcome is a higher advanced Soul that can know Love more fully, more intensely.
Pain is Normal, Suffering is a Choice!
To transcend suffering, the earth walker must comprehend totally: “Earth School is where my Eternal Soul evolves and expands through hardships and challenges I designed before I incarnated here; I literally chose my demons and my trauma!”
The earth-walker can then become the Divine Witness to the earth-walker’s challenge, instead of being consumed by false beliefs such as: “God did this to me because…” Blah blah blah. As this produces suffering.
Be In This World But Not Of It!
Be a witnesss to your life unfolding. See everything unfolding from your Higher Self, the divine eternal being that knows this is a temporary journey, that earth school lasts only a day in the eternal life of your Divine Soul. As the witness, who knows that you are indeed the author of your play, and now your Lower Self is the actor, performaing the dramatic script. It’s up to each individual to see the story unfolding as a Drama, or a Tragedy. That is a choice.
Guaranteed life is going to include big milestone moments where you might consider suicide. Life sucks sometimes. It is full of pain and loss, and disease, and war, and milions of other horrible things. But again, that’s what we do here. In order to transcend suffering, it is critical to hold on to these Divine Truths:
- Earth School is over in one day…Life goes so fast here, it’s rediculous!
- All the big milestone challenges you have faced? You wrote that story. You said “Oh boy, let’s do that challenge in my next incarnation. Own your choices! Ask yourself why you thought that was a good idea? Your Soul knows.
- Since challenges are why we came here, then I choose to own that, and accept the hard events, the loss and the pain, but I definitely am not going to let events take away my Joy, or my Love of Spirit… Because Spirit God has nothing to do with my Soul Contract. I take full responsibility for. that!
- I choose Joy. I choose to live 24/7 in the awareness that this tiny life lasts only one day in the life of my Eternal Soul. And I can do anything, for a day!
There you go! No more suffering needed. You’re cured!
Obviously we each need to allow saddness, grieving, and the expression of whatever painful emotions to flow through us. We’re not burying our heads in the sand, ignoring the earth school drama. But we do so with the awareness of the above principles to guide us. We stay in the conscious awareness of the Witness, watching the Dreamer dream. That’s the mental space to live in.
I do recommend you run not walk, to pick up two books that will reinforce these principles. The first focuses almost exclusively on skills needed to transcend suffering:
The Art of Living, by Thich Nhat Hanh.

Strange memory as I close this topic and head out to the barn to feed Panchita, my horse:
In 7th grade, my social science teacher addressed our class one morning with these exact words: “Life is not a bowl of cherries. It’s full of horrible things and so much suffering.” I remember this like yesterday, as his message hit so hard, and I remember feeling so sorry for him, that he didn’t understand we were all in a dream. He didn’t know God, or how the Universe worked. This tortured soul was just so confused, and suffering terribly in this incarnation.
The next day, literally the very next morning, we found out my teacher had committed suicide. It made sense to me. He did not operate from the Knowing that Life is a Gift, and God is Love. He thought he was supposed to have everything happen here the way he wanted. He blamed the world, and God too, I suppose. I hope this story here helps You to understand..the big picture.
